Chris Bee is WRONG, the Hunting Public guys HAVE done it with heavy arrows and HAVE seen the benefits of shooting heavy verses shooting light, which they lost a lot of deer shooting light. Whitetail are the spookiest and quickest moving creatures and react fast to sound; and with all due respect to Chis, shooting 80 lbs, most people CAN'T shoot that high a poundage, and for them, the much quieter and heavy setup is better. I used to shoot 80lb when I was his age, but now shoot 60. He will learn the hard way over time.

Loved the podcast but Chris is wrong about the arrows and the heavy high FOC arrows with a fixed single bevel broadhead and their affect are not conjecture. The Ashby studies are extensive and well documented. Pass throughs on Cape Buffalo with 45 lbs recurve bows would not be happening with light arrows and expandable broadheads on a regular basis. Chris claims that the Ranch Fairy etc don't know, but compared to Dr Ashby's studies, what does Chris know? He has nowhere near the experience.

I totally agree w/ chris bee on uping the poundage and coming down on the arrow weight. I also hunt western south dakota so the benefit of a flatter arrow and more forgiving is more of a priority than 2% more kinetic energy for a higher arching arrow. I'd be intersted to see you test the setup that chris is talking about this year and come back with your findings on another podcast!

I love his song "More that enough" and I believe his sincerely for the Lord, I just don't understand the hair. Why be disobedient is someone so simple...is it pride? Vanity? Either way it is a stumbling for some men just as modesty is a stumbling for some Christian women.

When we all start out hunting it’s with a gun of some kind and get told right behind the front shoulder that works, with a stick and string you allow for slightly off I’m 60 started bow hunting at 20 and took a few years to realize it’s always different shooting at the real animal than a target you can’t duplicate that on a range . Nerves e make you do crazy things!

Much respect to Mr. Bee, nothing against him, but I respectfully disagree about the arrows. It seems to me fairly obvious that a heavier projectile (flying straight and accurate) is going to be harder to stop all else equal. And if it’s harder to stop, it’s going to go further thru whatever it hits. I did a water jug penetration test and that’s exactly what my test showed. But at the end of the day everyone’s gotta do what they gotta do. Great pod. Sub’d

I would say to have that extra distance from a 400-500 grain arrow and higher poundage would be more important than a 600-700 grain arrow because what if the chance of a lifetime was just 10-15 yards to far for that massive arrow

I was introduced to bowhunting in Maryland in 2005. Our limit at that time was 7 Bow, 7 Muzzleloader, 7 Shotgun/rifle(depending on the area in the state). 2 of each season could be antlered. I was military at the time, and I could have doubled my tags bc any game taken on post didn't count against the state limit off post. Maryland had a program with the processors to donate the meat for (Soup Kitchens) meat. I know I was able to provide good protein to a lot of people that needed it. Are programs like this still available or have they stopped due to liablity?

Sorry, could not finish it... I have went the route of not stressing about things. If people want to post to Social/Web, go for it. Personally I enjoy seeing the pics and am happy for those that are successful. Land access becoming more limited would happen with or without the web - and I believe if people were not seeing value in recreational land we would be in more trouble as there would be zero habitat left. Hunting is getting expensive, especially if you need to use new/brand name items. I've morphed into using 'garage sale' camo and shooting a wooden recurve, building my own cheap arrows. My success rate has not changed - but I also don't base my success on what I killed.

What a douche. He failed as an influencer and mad he cant hunt all the deer he wants and jealous of those who are fortunate enough to get to. He had dreams of being so great and invited on cool hunts and since he didn’t make it. He is mad that others get to. I want to hunt giant muley’s , but I know I have to work for it. No one should be mad at other hunters that get multiple opportunities to hunt all over.

Man where did you find this guy. If your concerned what people think of what you post don't post it, if they don't like it fuck them scroll on. Hunting is not a rich man game. Those guys felt hunting is important enough to them to pay to play. Stop wanting free places to hunt and get your ass to work and buy your own or save to lease the land to hunt and stop crying cause you can't hunt for free. I said what I said.

I don't think it's a question at this point. It started with meat eater on Netflix. Like Chris bee said they've made it a rich man's game. The other aspect I don't here from anybody is you have different groups of hunters. Trophy hunters who let deer walk, then you have the brown it's down you can't eat the horns crowd trying to fill freezers. You'll never convince them to let deer walk but I never hear that aspect in these conversations, that's a huge factor in deer populations in certain areas of the country.

I would respectfully have to disagree on who started it. I believe the trigger for wanting fame was Realtree Road trips then Bone Collector and Lee and Tiffany. After that is when the barrage of new products came out because social media allowed you to show new products to the industry without having to get into the ATA show in order to get it in front of retailers. Then the success of THP and Chris Bee and Seek One sent the "influencer" craze into overdrive.

Yall keep bringing up the topic of less ground/more hunters. Wanna add more huntable ground and improve the health of the deer herd? Water quality and flood mitigation projects seem go be the best chance and have the highest impact on a large scale. Hunters are already responsible for protecting the a good chunk of the remaining fragments of natural habitat in ag country
